Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. This page explains which ones this site uses and how to control them.
What this site uses
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they read. This tells us that a page was viewed. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.
The cookies it sets are named _ga and _ga_ followed by a string of characters. They hold a randomly generated number that lets Google tell one visit from another. They expire after two years.
Advertising
We run Google Ads. If you arrive from one of those ads and then send a form, a Google conversion cookie records that the ad led to an inquiry. It measures whether the advertising works.
These are named _gcl_au and similar, and they last ninety days.
It is not used to follow you around other websites. This site does not run remarketing, so your visit here is not added to an audience list and is not used to target ads to you elsewhere.
Map
The Contact page shows a Google map of where the studio is. The map is served by Google, so when it loads, Google receives your IP address and the same technical details your browser sends to any website, and may set or read its own cookies in your browser. Those are Google's cookies, governed by Google's privacy policy. This site loads the map on the Contact page only.
None of them is needed for the site to work
Analytics cookies, advertising cookies, and the map can all be refused without breaking anything. Every page, every form, and every blog post works exactly the same way with them blocked.
That is also why there is no cookie banner on this site. No US state privacy law requires one for a business this size, and a pop-up gate in front of a page nobody asked for it on is an annoyance rather than a protection.
What this site does not use
- No cookies that store personal information such as your address or any password
- No cookies tied to a login, because there is no way to log in
- No selling or sharing of cookie data with third parties for their own marketing
- No embedded video or social media widget. The only embed on this site is the Google map on the Contact page, described above
How to control cookies
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies through its settings.
You can also opt out of Google Analytics across every website using the browser add-on Google provides for that purpose, and you can change what Google uses for advertising in your Google ad settings.
